One Magic Christmas

Michael composed the original score for One Magic Christmas, a Disney holiday fantasy directed by Phillip Borsos, starring Mary Steenburgen, Harry Dean Stanton, Gary Basaraba, and Elisabeth Harnois. The film follows Ginny Grainger, a struggling mother who has lost sight of the meaning of Christmas, and the guardian angel sent to help her rediscover it. Michael's score weaves familiar Christmas melodies into an original orchestral setting, using bright flute writing and warm textures to carry the film's emotional turns. The recording presented here is the 2011 master.
